Guest room

My guest room is finally habitable by guests! I've been working on it

all this week. It's not finished yet. I still need to to get some

additional sheers for the curtains and the black and white photography

I'm saving for. This room is sort of a beast. I should never have put up the

Elfa shelves before I bought the rest of the furniture. Because of the

I placed them on the wall and their size it created a lot of wasted

space and made the 3 hours of playing tetris in the room with the

couch and bookshelves not very much fun.

But at least I hung the curtain rod straight!

Molly's Birthday

I can't believe it's been 5 years since I adopted Molly. It was love at first sight when I entered the SPCA as a volunteer. I was to transport her to an adoption event at Balboa Park.

The day we met

I was the one who adopted her!!

So five years later, here we are. Both of us with a few extra pounds.

I had a little party for her on our five year adoption anniversary. I got a "paw"ty platter from My Best Friend's Pet Bakery (www.mybestfriendpettreats.com/) and invited a few friends to celebrate on the patio at a local coffee house. It was a really nice get together and the dogs had about a million treats. They even kept the party hats on long enough to take some photos!

How do I manage?

Seriously, the things I do to myself. Last night in sewing class while crawling around on the floor attempting to pin my pattern to my fabric and doing it completely wrong thanks to my not great teacher, I managed to give myself rugburn. Yes. Rugburn on the tops of my feet (wearing flip flops). I was trying to figure out why the tops of my feet were hurting when my jeans rubbed them, I looked down and realized I was missing skin there, that's why!

Eventually I figured out it was way easier to pin standing up at a table. But seriously, who gives themselves rugburn trying to learn how to sew?? Must I learn everything the hard way?

You know I also bruise my knees when I'm trying to clean the bathroom?? What's wrong with me?
